The Japanese arm of Amway – a world leader in beauty and health – has chosen Abu Dhabi for a mega incentive trip to reward 100 of its top selling agents in 2015.
Confirmation of the mega incentive came during a contemporary road show in Japan which featured 11 Abu Dhabi tourism players led by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.
“With direct flights to Abu Dhabi and an intriguing mixture of culture and modern-day attractions, the destination fulfilled our requirements of a thrilling adventure to recognise and additional incentivise our agents,” said Yoshiro Nihei, manager, company event department, Amway Japan.
Over 100 tour operators turned out to listen to the Abu Dhabi stakeholders update them at the latest the destination has to provide- new resorts, tour options, exhibition and conference incentives and golf opportunities.
“We were also honoured to receive the UAE Ambassador to Japan, HE Saeed Ali Youssef Al Nowais who outlined the numerous synergies between Abu Dhabi and Japan – particularly the affection of culture shared by both – and he referred to Abu Dhabi’s readiness to welcome Japanese tourists with a variety of destination offerings,” said Mubarak Al Nuaimi, director promotions & international offices, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.
Abu Dhabi’s tourism industry is calling to push the destination further up the Far Eastern traveller’s agenda, for both stop-over and point-to-point business, and is tailoring product to fit the sector’s specific needs.
Destination management company Arabian Adventures, which operates a Japanese language Abu Dhabi city tour three days every week, increases to 5 days every week from October and introduce more tours with Japanese guides.
Many stakeholders say they may be engaged on product packaging for the Japanese traveller following the line show, particularly targeting the stop-over market.
“Yas Island, that’s in a straightforward ten minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport is preferrred to meet stop-over demand with its Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Yas Links and Yas Beach products,” said Al Nuaimi.
“This could be upscaled further with the hole, next March, of Yas Mall, that may be Abu Dhabi’s largest shopping complex and the second one largest within the UAE.”
