Abu Dhabi hotel guests climb 12%

Abu Dhabi has reported a 12% rise within the variety of guests staying in its 145 hotels and hotel apartments for the primary 1/2 this year when compared with the primary six months of last year. Figures just released by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) also show that guests within the emirate are staying longer and that there were significant increases in hotel occupancies and revenues. During the primary 1/2 this year some 1,333,339 guests checked into Abu Dhabi accommodation delivering 4,226,604 guest nights – an increase of 25% on 2012. Britain is #1 European shopping destination

Britain is the easiest place in Europe to go to for shopping, per YouGov’s latest EuroTrack survey, which tracks public opinion within the UK, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. The findings come an afternoon after official figures showed economic growth in Britain has doubled because the start of the year, and a report by YouGov and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) found that consumer confidence in Britain is at its highest level since early 2010. Asked to select as much as three European countries, and on average a 3rd (32%) of respondents said the united kingdom was the suitable place in Europe to go to for shopping, followed by Italy (20%) and France (20%). Nicaragua launches new coffee trail

The Nicaragua Tourist Board has launched the Coffee Trail, a brand new tourist route so that they can give visitors an authentic experience of the northern region of the rustic. The Coffee Trail covers five regional departments – Estelí, Jinotega, Madriz, Matagalpa, and Nueva Segovia – and aims to point out visitors the various culture, food, scenery and tourism products of this area.  Visitors following the route will travel through several coffee and tobacco plantations and stay in charming rural hotels or guest farmhouses where they may be able to participate in everyday activities.  They may be able to hike through nature reserves, visit picturesque villages and towns, and spot how the locals produce beautiful handicrafts made from marble, clay or tusa (corn skin).  The local gastronomy is another main...

Columbus survey reveals top 10 items Brits must tackle holiday

A survey conducted by travel insurance specialist Columbus Direct has found some surprising statistics on which item Brits cannot do without on holiday. The top three items that Britons insist on taking with them on holiday are smartphones (33%), books or an ebook reader (22%) and sunglasses (16%). Surprisingly, only 6% said that expensive gadgets including tablets or an iPad was their essential holiday companion and only .5% said they couldn’t do without their camera.
