Most costly destinations in America revealed

Provincetown, located on the extreme tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, is the United States’ most costly destination by way of its hotel costs.

A survey achieved by CheapHotels.org compared hotel rates for all destinations within the USA for this summer’s main travel period of July 1st to August 31st.

The rankings were determined in accordance with the common cost of every location’s cheapest available double room.

As such, the costs mentioned reflect the minimum amount travellers should spend to remain at a undeniable destination.

Only those hotels rated two stars or higher were considered for the survey.

Visitors to Provincetown must spend, on average, $217 per night for a double room.

That figure makes the coastal Massachusetts city the country’s most costly destination.

Coming in as second costliest is New Jersey’s Cape May with a mean price of $204 per night.

Following closely within the number three spot is Martha’s Vineyard, that is located near Provincetown in southern Cape Cod.

The most affordable double room in Martha’s Vineyard is averaging $202 nightly this summer.
