News: Costa Cruises celebrates its 65th birthday

On 31 March 2013, Costa Cruises is celebrating its 65th anniversary. It is going to be 65 years to the day because the first departure of the Anna C which left Genoa for Buenos Aires carrying 768 passengers. She was the primary ship within the Costa fleet devoted to passenger transport, effectively marking the start of Costa’s cruises.

This is a significant milestone for the corporate and for the worldwide cruise industry which Costa is marking with a sequence of special initiatives starting on 31 March 2013 and continuing all year long.

The 65th anniversary may be celebrated standard around the globe on all 14 ships within the fleet, within the Mediterranean, Asia, the Caribbean, South America, the Emirates and Oman. On board there’ll be a string of special 65th anniversary events and activities arranged for guests including cocktail parties, special shows, gala dinners, in addition to commemorative postcards and souvenir photos. A few of the ports where Costa’s ships would be calling that day, from Buenos Aires to Shanghai, can be decked out with festive anniversary decorations and celebrations may even involve your entire company’s employees, its partner organisations and the area people in Genoa where Costa is headquartered.

To further mark the occasion, the corporate is offering past clients and new clients alike unique opportunities to move on a Costa cruise with special anniversary offers. Costa can also be running a prime international advertising campaign, mainly within the press, featuring a slogan stressing the close ties which have linked the corporate to its clients for 65 years:  “Since 1948, always with you, better than ever.”

Other initiatives marking this significant anniversary were scheduled for the remainder of 2013.
