Delegates in Berlin had been welcomed to the second one day of the International Hotel Investment Forum on the InterContinental Hotel.
Patron Sponsor CBRE Hotels has this year been joined by 67 additional sponsors from around the accommodation sector.
In addition to the nearly 2,000 delegates, 191 speakers are programmed to give in the course of the three day event.
Top of the agenda for a lot of delegates was the new acquisition of the Principal Hayley Group by private investment firm Starwood Capital Group and the strategic alliance recently formed between Wyndham Hotel Group and Grand City Hotels.
The latter will see Grand City brand 43 hotels under globally recognised Wyndham Hotel Group brand names.
On the ground, Marriott International caused perhaps the most important stir of the day, announcing it’ll enter the ecu mid-scale market with its new Moxy Hotels.
yoo Hotels has also been making waves with the announcement of 2 new brands, while
Waldorf Astoria was showing off its new Berlin property just down the line.
In other news, Akkeron has signed a take care of Choice Hotels within the UK, while Meliá have been outlining its improved capital position.
