On 31 March 2013, Costa Cruises is celebrating its 65th anniversary. It is going to be 65 years to the day because the first departure of the Anna C which left Genoa for Buenos Aires carrying 768 passengers. She was the primary ship within the Costa fleet devoted to passenger transport, effectively marking the start of Costa’s cruises. This is a significant milestone for the corporate and for the worldwide cruise industry which Costa is marking with a sequence of special initiatives starting on 31 March 2013 and continuing all year long.
