News: IAG and British Airways select the A350

After a radical selection process, International Airline Group (IAG), and British Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to purchase 18 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft plus 18 options, as component to the airline’s on-going long-haul aircraft fleet renewal and modernisation strategy. IAG, owner of both British Airways and Iberia, has also secured commercial terms and delivery slots which may result in firm orders for Iberia. Firm orders will only be made when Iberia is able to grow profitably, having restructured and reduced its cost base. The number of the A350-1000 follows British Airways’ decision in 2007 to purchase 12 Airbus A380s, the primary of so that it will be delivered this summer. Katara joins forces with Aspire Zone

Contributing to the Qatar National Vision 2030, Katara, the Cultural Village and Aspire Zone Foundation today signed a Memorandum of Understanding which supports arts and culture within the realm of sports. The signing was attended by Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager, Katara and Hilal bin Jaham Al Kuwari, Head of Aspire Zone. The aim of the agreement is for both partners to jointly cooperate to within the promotional and marketing activities, in addition to the organization of special events. The partnership will contribute to the notice of cultural and sports through festivals, exhibitions, seminars and other sports and cultural activities which is able to encourage citizens and residents of Qatar to take part in these activities. Air Seychelles and Seychelles Tourism Board ink deal

Air Seychelles and the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) geared toward increasing Seychelles’ visibility all over the world by leveraging the airline’s expanding international network and growing collection of airline partners. The agreement was signed by Cramer Ball, Air Seychelles’ Chief Executive Officer, and Mrs. Elsia Grandcourt, STB’s Chief Executive Officer, at a ceremony held on the Ministry of Tourism and Culture on the National Library building, within the presence of Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St. Ange; Minister for Home Affairs and Transport, Joel Morgan; and Principal Secretary for Tourism, Sherin Naiken.
